Decision Made, & An Offer Excepted..

A few weeks ago we looked at a property in New Virginia (60 minutes from our current home) it was 10 acres with a pond and a very beautiful property, but for many reasons including the very small school district and a house we didn't love or really even like we decided it wasn't the right property for us. Then less than a week later our realtor called and told us the property that we wanted to look at in the beginning of May in Winterset was available. We were excited and nervous all at the same time but we scheduled a showing the following morning.

The night before going to the property  [NAME OMITTED] and I talked about all the pros and cons for about the 500th time and the next day (Friday May 24th) we went and looked inside the house (we had walked around the 5.5 acres on the property early May). It was move in ready and even though this house is a tremendous downsize for us. We were very happy with the house, so we made an offer. Now we sit with an excepted offer, contingent on financing (check), getting our current home rented (check) and inspections... last one happening this Friday!!

We have been going crazy sorting things, throwing things away, and packing up the things we don't use or need right away. Down fall to a big home... How is it possible you obtain so much crap you don't need? Thank goodness for the trash man and for storage units we are filling up one to make moving easier. It also seems to be less stressful than even the last time we moved since we have plenty of time. We will be closing the middle of next month. EK! It amazes me how things happen to work out.

[NAME OMITTED] and I have both become more excited about the possibilities the property has for our family. We are very happy with the school. I registered our oldest child for preschool in February for our current in town school district and he is on a waiting list, but in Winterset we were able to get B enrolled without a problem and we even took a small tour of his school and were so impressed by not only the facility but the faculty as well!! YAY There's the first benefit of a smaller town and country living that has come to life!!  Over the weekend we went down and measured all the rooms. We put the homes layout in a 3D Home architect program and have been designing a few possible addition layouts which of course makes me SUPER impatient and excited to actually do it but we still have some perfecting to do with the design and we realistically won't do it for 2-3 years, but here's hoping!!

Of course I am already decorating our living room in my head and looking back at all my pins that I've been dying to do but needed a place to do them in!! My upcoming blogs will be our moving in process and some of those projects I've been dying to do!! Yippee. One down fall (for those makes a list haha) was finding high speed internet (that won't have a lag) it was extremely difficult to find companies would say "Mediacom is the only company that we see services that area"...WRONG they don't, but I did find a company that serviced our location with high speed internet; YAY technology I'm sure 5 years ago it might not have been possible!

The property is perfect for us and has everything we need right away (even though I must admit the addition will be GLORIOUS!) The woods need some cleaning up but we are excited to do the work and make this property our home for many MANY years to come!
